Diani Guide
Everything we love about Diani Beach - and from Zavani it all starts with a 300-metre walk to the sand. Beaches, watersports, cafés, wildlife excursions and slow days in between.
Diani Beach
Zavani sits about 300 metres from the sand, so the beach is a five-minute barefoot walk. Miles of powdery white sand, a protected reef and warm turquoise water.
Restaurants & cafés
Beachside seafood shacks, laid-back cafés for slow breakfasts, Italian trattorias and sundowner bars - most are a short walk or tuktuk ride from the villa.
Activities & watersports
Snorkelling, diving, kitesurfing, stand-up paddle, dhow sunset cruises and skydiving over the reef.
Day trips & excursions
Wildlife excursions to Shimba Hills, Wasini Island and Kisite Marine Park, Colobus Conservation just up the road, and Mombasa Old Town for the afternoon.
Shopping & practical info
Supermarkets, curio markets, ATMs, pharmacies and a small hospital - all within a short drive.
Getting around
Tuktuks and boda-bodas are the local way to move around. Private taxis are easy to arrange through the villa.
From Mombasa & Ukunda Airport
About 60-75 minutes from Mombasa International Airport, and just 10 minutes from Ukunda Airstrip.
Best time to visit
Diani is a year-round destination. December-March offers the sunniest, driest weather; July-October is cooler and green.
